Fairfax County, Va., gets 120 jobs in expansion

Fairfax County-based Zantech IT Services plans to double its employment. The company announced a $317,853 expansion of its corporate offices in the Tysons area and add 120 employees to its current workforce of 100. “Fairfax County is the perfect location for our headquarters office to attract and retain a qualified workforce with advanced degrees and security clearances,” Zantech’s CEO Zia Islam said in a statement.

 

PVH Corp. confirms $78 million project in Georgia, adding 575 jobs

PVH Corp. will invest $77.6 million in a distribution center and warehouse, and create 575 jobs in Palmetto, Ga., about 30 minutes south of downtown Atlanta. Gov. Brian Kemp’s office said the project will also bring more business to the Port of Savannah. PVH (formerly known as the Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation), is a clothing company that owns brands such as Calvin Klein, IZOD and Warner’s.

 

Dirt Cheap has 200 jobs to fill in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Discount retailer Dirt Cheap and its parent company Channel Control Merchants is hiring for more than 200 jobs at one of its Hattiesburg-area distribution centers. “We’re looking to increase our operations and provide more merchandise to our stores,” said Carlie Bounds, director of marketing. “We’re opening more stores next year.”

 

Six-million-dollar investment expands automotive in Enterprise, Ala. 

A $6 million investment in the HSAA/HSAU factories in Enterprise will bring over 160 jobs to the Wiregrass area. The HSAU factory serves as a tier one supplier of air conditioning hoses for Chrysler vehicles. The company’s senior manager Garry Jordan said the investment will now allow these parts to be made for Hyundai, Kia and General Motors vehicles. “This is gonna put us on the map because we are gonna do Denso, which is a global parts supplier,“ Jordan said.

 

Intuit to open “prosperity hub” in Bluefield, W.Va.; 500 jobs possible

Intuit will open a “prosperity hub” in downtown Bluefield with plans to create between 200 and 500 jobs. The prosperity hub will include a customer service center for Intuit’s product QuickBooks, and an innovation lab to help small businesses.

 

Transplace expanding in Rogers, Ark.

Transportation management company Transplace announced a new operations center in the northwest Arkansas city of Rogers. The $45 million project will replace the current Transplace center in nearby Lowell. The move will allow for the retention of the 700 people already employed, and the addition of “hundreds” more.

 

Spirit Airlines prepares for Raleigh-Durham launch

Spirit Airlines is holding a job fair ahead of its May 2 launch at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The airline is working to fill 70 new positions.

 

HZO relocates HQ to Raleigh, N.C.

HZO, which provides protective coatings to safeguard electronics, is relocating its headquarters from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Research Triangle Park in Raleigh. The new facilities provide HZO with significantly larger manufacturing, R&D and lab space. The company also said the move will enable them to meet rising demand with ready access to top talent, and easier access to ports.

 

Swedish company creating 75 jobs in Hall County, Ga.

A Swedish company is bringing 75 new jobs to Georgia’s Hall County. Geveko Markings, a producer of road and pavement markings, is expanding to a new, larger facility and headquarters in Gainesville.

 

Charlotte-based Nucor to invest $1.3 billion in Kentucky plant, creating 400 jobs

Charlotte-based steel manufacturer Nucor Corp. will invest $1.3 billion in a new facility in Brandenburg, Ky. The mill will produce steel plates for manufacturers of barges, bridges, rail cars, refinery tanks, ships and other products. The new facility will house 400 workers that will earn an average of $45 per hour including benefits. 

 

Amazon expands in Austin with 800 new tech jobs

Amazon recently announced plans to create 800 new tech jobs in Austin in areas such as engineering, research science and cloud computing. Amazon already has 1,000 corporate employees in Austin. The city has increasingly become a tech hub — Facebook, Google and Dell all have a presence in the area. Amazon also owns Whole Foods, which is headquartered there.

 

Pipe manufacturer adding jobs in Baton Rouge, La.

Stupp Corp., a steel pipe manufacturer, is upgrading its two plants in Baton Rouge. The company, which has operated in Baton Rouge since 1952, will invest $22 million and add 128 jobs in the project. 

 

POP Displays plans facility in East Point, Ga.

Headquartered in Yonkers, N.Y., POP Displays will create 280 jobs and invest $7.9 million in a new manufacturing and distribution facility in East Point.  The company produces displays for national clients such as Maybelline, Walmart and Revlon.

 

General Atomics expands manufacturing complex in Shannon, Miss.

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems is increasing its manufacturing capacity to accommodate the addition of a new product line at Tupelo Lee Industrial Park in Shannon. The company produces technologies for critical defense, commercial and industrial applications. The project is a $50 million investment and will create 75 jobs. 

 

Charah Solutions plans second Houston plant

Charah Solutions, a provider of environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry, will open a second facility for grinding slag to create supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) at Watco’s Greens Port Industrial Terminal in Houston, Texas.

 

Milliken building clarifier plant in South Carolina

Milliken & Company will soon begin building the largest clarifier plant in its history at its Blacksburg, S.C., site. The world-class plant is due to begin operations in 2020 and will boost capacity of Milliken’s Millad NX 8000 clarifier, a polypropylene additive. They did not disclose project costs.

 

$45 million tech manufacturing facility coming to Kyle, Texas

ENF Technology, a South Korea-based chemicals business that sells to Samsung and other tech companies, plans to build a $45 million U.S. headquarters in Kyle, south of Austin. Most of the chemicals produced in Kyle will be sold to the Samsung Austin Semiconductor chip plant, Texas Instruments and Intel. ENF plans to initially hire 45 to 50 employees, and could expand to 80, with expected median pay of $85,000 a year.

 

Bluebird Bio opens facility in Durham, N.C.

Massachusetts-based Bluebird Bio has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Durham and plans to add 20 workers to the current team of 50 scientists, engineers and others at the plant. The gene therapy company will have invested $80 million in its facility with the opening.

 

Central Florida gets piece of Boeing’s $4 billion contract

The U.S. Navy wants a swarm of newly upgraded Super Hornet aircraft and is paying Chicago-based Boeing a hefty amount to build them. The military branch awarded a $4 billion, five-year contract to Boeing for the firm to build 78 Super Hornet aircraft, some of which will take place in Central Florida.

 

Blue Origin doubles down on Florida’s Space Coast

A little more than a year after opening its $205 million rocket manufacturing center in Merritt Island, Fla., Blue Origin is planning a nearly 90-acre expansion to connect with its current facility at the state-owned Exploration Park just outside the gates of Kennedy Space Center. Under the terms of its lease, which will be in effect for at least 50 years, Blue Origin will pay NASA $20.3 million for the new site, which will support the company’s commercial space vehicles.

 

Another California company relocates to Texas

California company Rosendin Electric, an electrical contract company founded in 1919, will relocate its regional facilities to a 50,000-square-foot facility in Pflugerville, located less than 20 miles north of Austin. The move involves a $3 million capital investment and will bring 84 jobs with a minimum average wage of $75,000.

 

Duke Energy announces solar power plants in Florida

Duke Energy Florida (DEF) has announced the locations for its 195MW of solar power plants in the state, as part of its plans to add 700MW of solar generation through 2022. DEF is planning to build its Lake Placid solar power plant on a 380-acre site in Highlands County, which also features approximately 180,000 tracking solar panels.

 

Absolute Haitian opening South Carolina plant 

Massachusetts-based injection molding machine supplier Absolute Haitian Corp. will officially open its new 116,000-square-foot operations facility in Moncks Corner, S.C., in May. The project, which was announced in May 2018, will hire 45.

 

Forklift manufacturer growing  by 40 jobs in Lexington, Ky.

A Kentucky-based manufacturer of forklift trucks plans to invest $4.6 million in the expansion of its North American headquarters in Lexington, Ky. The project also means the addition of 40 jobs.

 

Arkema celebrates expansion of Mobile-area plant

Officials celebrated the expansion of Arkema’s plant in Axis, Ala., north of Mobile, which produces PEKK, a plastic that company officials say is as strong as aluminum but much lighter. The expansion, which is now fully operational, added about 23 new jobs, bringing the Axis plant’s workforce to 110.

 

Home health company to add 500 jobs in Lafayette, La.

LHC Group broke ground on the home health company’s $46 million operations center in Lafayette. The project is expected to create 500 direct jobs once operational.

 

Cosmos Corporation expands HQ in O’Fallon, Mo.

Cosmos Corporation, a manufacturer of natural pet products, plans to expand its world headquarters in O’Fallon. The $25.7 million facility will house 60 new full-time jobs.

 

HempWood manufacturing operation coming to Calloway County, Ky.

Fibonacci plans to open the first HempWood operation in America in Murray, Ky., with an investment of more than $5.8 million. The plant, which will make a timber replacement material composed of hemp, is expected to create 25 full-time jobs.

 

New poultry plant bringing hundreds of jobs to Screven County, Ga.

A company that’s been in the area for 70 years will expand this spring and bring 120 jobs to Sylvania. Claxton Poultry will open a new processing plant with an investment of $12 million.

 

New medical center to create 230 jobs in Plantation, Fla.

Miami-based Baptist Health South Florida has broken ground on a new medical center in Plantation that officials say will create 230 new jobs. A budget for the project has not been released.

 

Georgia-Pacific plans $30 million upgrade to Georgia mill

Georgia-Pacific says it plans to invest $30 million in its lumber mill in Rome, Ga. Officials say the investment in new equipment will not directly create jobs at the facility, which currently has about 160 employees. 

 

Lowndes County, Ga., gaining new jobs

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority announced a new manufacturing company will be opening its doors in April. Better Way Products, which manufactures fiberglass, is setting up shop in the former Robalo building. The building has been vacant for 10 years but will soon be home to nearly 90 new jobs.

 

Massive Georgia battery factory breaks ground

Korea-based SK Group broke ground recently on its sprawling $1.7 billion factory to supply batteries for electric vehicles. The deal is expected to bring 2,000 jobs to Jackson County, northeast of Atlanta, making it the largest economic development deal in Georgia since Kia Motors opened in West Point a decade ago. The company will initially provide batteries for Volkswagen's plant in Chattanooga.

 

Toyota plant adds 450 jobs in North Alabama

Over 450 new jobs are coming to the Toyota plant in Huntsville. The company just announced two new engine lines for the Huntsville Engine Manufacturing Plant. The added jobs are the largest hiring event in the plant’s history. Toyota and Mazda also are building an auto manufacturing plant just outside Huntsville. That facility in Limestone County is expected to employ up to 4,000 people.

 

Plant expanding in Smyth County, Va.

Scholle IPN Packaging, a manufacturer of sustainable packaging, will invest $10.29 million to expand its production facility in Smyth County. The project will create 42 new jobs.

 

Toyota expanding West Virginia facility with 123 jobs

Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility in Putnam County, W.Va., plans to double its hybrid transaxle capacity with a $111 million investment in its West Virginia plant, which includes a building expansion and the addition of the 123 jobs. 

 

Renewable energy project to put some former coal miners to work in Eastern Kentucky

Toyota, which has a large assembly plant in Georgetown, Ky., is partnering to build a 700-acre solar panel farm in Pike County, Ky. It is one of the largest renewable energy projects in the Appalachian region. The project will create 200 construction jobs and 50 permanent jobs.

 

Solar energy to power 400 new jobs in Georgia

Nashville-based Silicon Ranch is partnering with Georgia Electric Membership Corporations and Early County officials to invest more than $150 million to develop three solar facilities to support The Facebook data center in Newton County. The project will include hiring 400 workers for the expected 10-month construction project.

 

Germany-based manufacturer plans Dunlap, Tenn., plant

Hubner Manufacturing Corporation, a company that makes a wide range of products for the transportation and energy sectors, will invest $9.6 million to establish a new manufacturing facility in Dunlap. The project will create 66 jobs in Sequatchie County.

 

New medical center means 350 jobs for Lee County, Ga.

The Lee County Medical Center, to be built on the former site of the Grand Island Golf Course, will potentially provide 350 news jobs within the first year of opening. The groundbreaking in southwest Georgia should take place this summer.

 

Hyundai supplier expanding in Alabama

A Korean company that supplies Hyundai and Kia plants in Alabama and Georgia is planning a multi-million-dollar expansion in Conecuh County, Ala. Guyoung Tech USA is expanding its production line and building a new welding facility in the former Gerber Distribution building in Evergreen. The company plans to hire at least 45 employees over the first three years and reach 90 to 100 employees in five years. 

 

Sykes to add 200 jobs in Fort Smith, Ark.

Sykes Enterprises’ Fort Smith service center intends to add more than 200 jobs. The Tampa-based IT consulting company recently announced that it has secured a new contract that will require more than 200 new jobs be added to its current workforce this year.

 

Pratt Industries investing $20 million in Virginia

A recycled paper and packaging company, Pratt Industries, will invest over $20 million to establish a new manufacturing operation in the Botetourt County. The facility will be Pratt’s second operation in Virginia and will create 50 new jobs.

According to Redfin, a national real estate brokerage, there are exactly seven active listings in the third week of March in zip code 22202. That is the area that encompasses Arlington Ridge, Crystal City, Pentagon City and Aurora Hills, Va. It is also the zip code where Amazon's HQ2 is being built. The seven available properties are down from 21 a year ago. The 22202 housing inventory plummeted 84 percent since November, when Amazon announced it had selected what they are now branding as National Landing in Arlington County. The lack of listings near Amazon's HQ2 means that sellers are waiting on the company to complete its project before selling at much higher prices. 

 

SpaceX will build its most powerful rocket in Florida and Texas

SpaceX founder Elon Musk said in March that the company will build its Starship and Super Heavy rockets in Boca Chica, Texas and Cape Kennedy, Fla. The 387-foot, two-stage rocket will cost about $5 billion to development, and the first flight is expected in 2023. 

 

U.S. trade deficit hit a record in 2018

According to a report published in March by the U.S. Commerce Department, the U.S. trade deficit in goods hit a record high of $891.3 billion in 2018. The high deficits are a blow to President Trump's trade policies that were supposed to lower the deficit. As imports jumped, some exports such as automobiles, soybeans and farm products "got hammered" according to The Wall Street Journal by retaliation tariffs from Europe and Asia. The trade gaps with China and Mexico also set records.  

 

Moody's cuts automotive industry from stable to negative

Credit rating company Moody's has cut its outlook for the automotive industry from stable to negative. Moody's based its outlook on slowing economic growth, potential political issues, such as tariffs, and a better-than-expected end to 2018 in vehicle sales. Moody's expects global auto sales to grow by just 0.5 percent this year, down from its previous forecast of 1.2 percent growth. 

 

24/7 Wall Street ranks top U.S. markets with large STEM labor forces

24/7 Wall Street ranked cities based on large STEM labor forces in the winter quarter. California-Lexington, Md. ranked No. 1. San Jose was second followed by Huntsville, Ala. Southern markets making the top 10 included Durham-Chapel Hill, N.C.; Arlington-Alexandria, Va.- District of Columbia; Raleigh and Austin. 

 

Cheniere's first Corpus Christi LNG train ready to start exports

Houston-based Cheniere Energy's LNG plant is open for business in Corpus Christi, Texas. The first train of the liquefied natural gas was completed in early March. Cheniere also exports LNG at a sister plant in Southwest Louisiana near Lake Charles. 

 

Lafayette, La., lands helicopter plant

In the winter quarter, Switzerland-based Kopter Group AG announced that it will assemble its new SH09 helicopter in Lafayette. The company, which will lease a building at the Lafayette Regional Airport, will invest $4.2 million and create 120 jobs with the project. Deliveries of the helicopters should begin in 2021.

The Wall Street Journal, using data from Moody's Analytics, ranked Austin No. 1 in the country among large markets in job creation in 2018. Midland, Texas ranked No. 1 in the small market category. 

 

Toyota to invest $749 million and add hundreds of jobs in the South

In the winter quarter, Japanese automaker Toyota said it will invest $749 million in five Southern states and add 600 jobs. The company will increase engine capacity in Alabama, transaxle production in West Virginia, add capacity at its assembly plant in Kentucky, and raise output of aluminum castings in Missouri and Tennessee. Toyota is also building a 4,000-employee plant with Mazda in Huntsville, Ala. 

 

Mercedes-Benz to assemble ultraluxe Maybach SUV at Alabama plant

Mercedes announced in the winter quarter that it will expand its plant in Vance, Ala., to build a luxury SUV under the Maybach brand. At $200,000, the vehicle will be the most expensive passenger car built in the U.S. The company is also in the early stages of a $1 billion upgrade to ready the facility to build its first electric vehicles. 

 

Korean brake manufacturer to open new Georgia facility

Sangsin Technology America, a manufacturer of brakes used by Hyundai and Kia, is opening a new plant in McDonough, Ga. The $20 million project will create 200 jobs. 

 

GE Aviation investing $50 million in Auburn, Ala.. plant

GE Aviation is expanding its additive manufacturing operation in Auburn. The project calls for a $50 million investment and 60 jobs. 

 

Scotland-based company expanding Mississippi foundry

The Weir Group is expanding its Newton, Miss., foundry that manufactures ground engaging equipment for the mining industry. The $15 million deal will create 150 high skill jobs. 

 

HVAC manufacturer to locate in Tennessee

STULZ Air Technology will open a new plant in Dayton, Tenn. The $2 million project will create 250 jobs. 

 

SmileDirectClub to add 2,000 jobs in Nashville region

Orthodontic services provider SmileDirectClub will expand in the Nashville area with 2,000 new jobs. The company will invest $217 million in the expansion. 

 

Ford expanding Louisville Truck Plant

Ford will add capacity of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator at its truck plant in Louisville, Ky. Ford will move 550 workers from its Louisville SUV plant to the truck plant in the deal. 

 

Thermo Fisher Scientific investing $150 million in North Carolina

Thermo Fisher Scientific is investing $150 million in its pharma business in Greenville, N.C. The expansion will add capacity for the company's sterile liquid products.  

 

Manufacturer to open new plant in Missouri

Central States Manufacturing is opening a new plant in St. Peters, Mo. The $6 million project will create 88 new jobs. 

 

ExxonMobil to invest $469 million in Louisiana

ExxonMobil will add a $469 million polypropylene manufacturing unit to its petrochemical complex in Baton Rouge. The project will create 65 new jobs and 600 construction jobs.

Arrive Logistics is expanding its facilities in Chattanooga, Tenn. The company will invest $3.6 million and add 500 jobs in the deal.

Southern Living magazine’s  new annual ranking of best small towns has been released. Named best small town in the South last year, Aiken saw its ranking drop to No. 4. The winner of this year’s “Best Small Town in the South” was Beaufort, N.C., followed by Beaufort, S.C., and St. Augustine, Fla. 

 

KOHLER Engines expanding in Mississippi

KOHLER Engines, a leading manufacturer of industrial gasoline and diesel engines, is expanding its manufacturing operations in Hattiesburg, Miss. The company is making a significant investment and adding 250 jobs. KOHLER is consolidating a plant in Wisconsin to Hattiesburg. 

 

Bill on rural broadband in Georgia passes

The Georgia Senate passed a bill in the winter quarter allowing Georgia's 41 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) to enter the broadband business. The bill is aimed at increasing broadband in rural parts of the state.  

 

Orlando setting pace for jobs in Florida

From January 2018 to January 2019, greater Orlando led all Florida markets with a gain of 49,900 jobs. South Florida came in second with 30,000 new jobs and Tampa Bay placed third with 19,300 jobs year-over-year. 

 

High-tech aerospace manufacturer to open new Kentucky facility

Meyer Tool, a supplier of aerospace parts, is opening a new $15.9 million facility near Erlanger, Ky. The company is acquiring and renovating an 83,000-square-foot property that will house 100 workers. 

 

HVAC manufacturer to open plant in rural Tennessee

STULZ Air Technology Systems is opening a plant in Dayton, Tenn. The maker of HVAC equipment will invest $2 million and hire 250 in the deal.

 

Cancer research firm hiring 200 in North Carolina

A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company plans to hire 200 workers as it locates a commercial-scale immunotherapies plant in Wake County, N.C. Cellectis will develop gene- edited immunotherapies to fight cancer. 

 

CoorsTek expanding in Arkansas

CoorsTek, a manufacturer of ceramic components, is adding 50,000 square feet to its facility in Benton, Ark. It's part of a $26 million expansion that will increase employment by 60 workers. More than 200 people are housed at the plant now. 

 

Israeli auto parts supplier expanding in Auburn, Ala.

Arkal Automotive has invested $2.5 million and is adding 25 jobs to expand its Auburn facility. The company supplies plastic parts to Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen and Audi. 

 

Korean auto supplier setting up shop in Alabama

A Korean supplier to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama plans to open its first U.S. facility in Alabama’s Lee County. Yongsan Automotive USA is investing more than $5.5 million in a manufacturing facility in Opelika. The interior parts manufacturer will create 150 jobs in the deal. 

 

Financial services firm expands in San Antonio

Accenture Federal Services plans to expand its San Antonio operations and add 500 new jobs.  The company will invest $5 million as part of the expansion plan. 

 

South Carolina exports set another record

For the ninth consecutive year, the state of South Carolina set a record for total export sales in 2018. The state’s 2018 exports totaled $34.6 billion, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The figure represents a 7.5 percent increase over the 2017 total.

 

Call center hiring 600 in Virginia

The Results Cos. is adding 600 jobs and leasing additional space at its call center operation in Chesterfield County, Va. The company currently employs about 500 workers. The project represents an investment of $1.5 million. 

 

Clorox is opening cat litter plant in Virginia

The Clorox Company, a Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods company, seeks to establish a new manufacturing operation for its cat litter business in Frederick County, Va. The project will create 100 jobs.

 

Kentucky company reshoring jobs from Asia

In the winter quarter, Clark Material Handling announced it was expanding its Lexington, Ky., headquarters and reshoring one of its forklift production lines (the "S-Series") to Kentucky from Asia. The $4.6 million expansion will create 40 new jobs. 

 

ABB expanding in Mississippi

Swiss company ABB is adding 200,000 square feet to its manufacturing facilities in Senatobia, Miss., to increase production of Tmax XT circuit breakers. The $36 million expansion will generate 50 new jobs. The company is also filling the remaining 150 jobs of another expansion announced in 2016. 

 

Kimberly-Clark is investing $120 million in Oklahoma mill

Irving, Texas-based Kimberly-Clark Corp. is investing $120 million in its Jenks, Okla., mill that produces Cottonelle and Scott bath tissue. The company will add 270,000 square feet to begin production on Kleenex folded tissue products. The project will create 50 jobs. 

 

Super ATV to locate in Louisiana

SuperATV will locate a manufacturing and distribution facility in Shreveport, La. The company manufactures aftermarket parts for a variety of all-terrain vehicles. The $4.35 million deal will  create 75 jobs. 

 

$100 million agriculture complex to be built in Alabama

The Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation is investing $100 million in the Alabama Farm Center at Alfa Centennial Park in Chilton County, according to the Alabama News Center. The new agricultural complex is being designed with a goal of becoming the premier livestock and event center in the Southeast. The project will create 400 jobs. 

 

Pratt Industries invests in Virginia

Pratt Industries, Inc., a recycled paper and packaging company, will invest over $20 million to establish a new paper packaging plant in Botetourt County, Va. The project will create 50 jobs. 

 

Electric products manufacturer expands in Virginia

M.C. Dean, an electrical design manufacturer, is investing $25 million at its plant in Caroline County, Va. The deal will create 100 new jobs.

Toyota is expanding its Kentucky assembly plant and adding the production of the Lexus 300h Hybrid and the RAV4 Hybrid. Both vehicles feature combined gasoline and electric engine power. The project calls for an investment of $238 million. The expansion will not add jobs to the 8,000-employee plant. 

 

Sealed Air will spend $24 million to upgrade its facility in Simpsonville, S.C.

Sealed Air has entered into a joint venture with Japanese firm Kuraray to produce plant-based food packaging. Sealed Air will invest $24 million to upgrade its Simpsonville facility and will use Kuraray's plant-based resin and post-consumer plastic. 

 

Frontier Communications opens call center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Frontier Communications, a provider of broadband, video, photo and data services, will open a new call center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The deal calls for 70 jobs. 

 

InvestiNet to spend $2.1 million and create 85 jobs in Greenville, S.C.

Accounts receivable firm InvestiNet is expanding its facilities in downtown Greenville. The company will invest $2.1 million and create 85 jobs in the project. 

 

Ortec expands South Carolina plant

Ortec, a biomaterial and polymer technology company, will invest $20 million to expand its facilities by 50,000 square feet and increase its production capacity in Pendleton, S.C. The company also invested $20 million and added 60 jobs in 2016.
