Biggest project ever for Columbia County, Ga.

Amazon is building a new fulfillment center in Appling, Ga., just outside of Augusta. Governor Brian Kemp says this means more than 800 new jobs. “This project represents the largest single investment and job creation in any commercial project we have announced,” said Robbie Bennett. “Today is a very good day for Columbia County.”

 

Aerospace firm to create 675 jobs, invest $300 million in Melbourne, Fla.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Aerion Supersonic will construct a new state-of-the-art campus – Aerion Park – in Melbourne. Aerion Park will form a new global headquarters and campus for research, design, build and maintenance of the company’s supersonic aircraft. The campus will be used to construct the company’s new AS2 Supersonic Business Jet that could fly at speeds up to 1,000 miles per hour. The new project involves a multi-year $300 million investment that is expected to generate at least 675 jobs by 2026.

 

Florida security company to hire thousands In Florida

G4S Secure Solutions USA, a subsidiary of a London-based security company with offices in Tampa Bay, has plans to hire more than 15,000 employees across the U.S., including 1,400 in Florida and more than 300 in Tampa, because of increased demand brought on by coronavirus.

 

Waffle company cooking up jobs in Georgia

A national waffle company is setting up shop in the former Kellog plant in Fulton County, creating 162 new jobs. Batter Up Foods’ sister company, SatisPie, will invest up to $34 million as it expands its products to include waffles and pancakes for businesses across North America. Headquartered in New York, this marks the company’s first location in Georgia.

 

Prattville approves land sale for $2 million chemical plant

Members of the Prattville, Ala., city council have approved the sale of land to a chemical company planning to build a $2 million factory there. Autumn Tree will bring about 10 jobs to the city, supplying chemicals to an International Paper mill.

 

Water tech firm moves HQ from Los Angeles to McKinney, Texas

Water treatment technology firm OriginClear is moving its corporate headquarters from Los Angeles to its manufacturing site in McKinney. Riggs Eckelberry, the company’s CEO, said its California team is now increasingly virtual while its product development and manufacturing takes place at its McKinney site.

 

Alleviant Health Centers expands headquarters in Little Rock, 115 jobs added

Alleviant Health Centers, an operator of mental health clinics across the U.S, will expand its headquarters in Little Rock, Ark. In addition to maintaining their corporate operations of 20 employees, the company will add 115 corporate jobs.

 

PGT Innovations expands in Florida

PGT Innovations, a manufacturer of windows and doors, is expanding its workforce in Florida to fill over 150 positions throughout its manufacturing plants in North Venice, Hialeah, Miami and Tampa.

 

Aerospace company investing $2.3 million In Cherokee County, N.C.

Moog, a New York-based technology company, will create 12 new jobs and invest more than $2.3 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Murphy.

 

Cynergy Cargo opens manufacturing plant In South Arkansas

Cynergy Cargo, an enclosed cargo trailer manufacturer headquartered in Douglas, Ga., is building a new facility in Crossett, Ark. The company plans to hire 70 new, full-time employees within 24 months.

 

Biotech company expands Tampa campus

Amgen plans to expand its global biotech center in Tampa, Fla. The expansion will give Amgen additional meeting and collaboration space and the ability to accommodate future growth. The company plans to invest approximately $10 million in the expansion.

 

Ennis promises $800,000 in capital Investments at Chatham, N.C., facility

Ennis, a manufacturer of print products, plans to make capital investments of more than $800,000 and create 15 new jobs at its plant in Pittsylvania County where it already employs more than 100 people.

 

Tindall Corporation expanding operations In Spartanburg County, S.C.

Tindall Corporation, a provider of precast architectural and structural systems, announced plans to expand operations in Spartanburg County. The $28 million investment will create 20 new jobs.

 

MPLT Healthcare relocates headquarters to Boca Raton, Fla.

MPLT Healthcare, a nationwide leader in healthcare and physician staffing, invested $1.53 million to relocate to a newly designed 23,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Boca Raton. The company also plans to add 75 new jobs to its existing workforce.

 

Adams Products will expand operations in Cowpens, S.C.

Adams Products, a subsidiary of Oldcastle APG, will invest more than $12.5 million to expand operations in Cowpens, South Carolina. The expansion will allow for high volume manufacturing of Oldcastle APG’s two well-known product lines – Sakrete bagged concrete mixes and Amerimix mortars.The expansion is expected to be completed by late 2020.

 

Focus Services eyes Tarboro, N.C., for customer contact center

Utah-based Focus Services, an innovator in customer contact solutions, will create up to 200 jobs at a new operations center in Tarboro.

 

Keurig Dr Pepper to hire 100 in DFW area

Keurig Dr Pepper, headquartered in Plano, Texas, says they have plenty of jobs to fill during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vicki Draughn, VP of Corporate Communication, said, “Across the nation we have about 1,000 jobs available. About 100 of those are here in Dallas-Fort Worth. Primarily what we are looking for loaders, fork lift operators, drivers to deliver products, merchandisers to shock shelves, and in our manufacturing facility.”

 

Montgomery call center wants to hire 398

A California-based call center wants to triple its Montgomery workforce as the coronavirus pandemic creates a surge in demand. Alorica employs about 200 people in Alabama’s capital city. Earlier this month the company said it wanted to hire about 50 more over the next few months. Now, Alorica says it wants to hire 398 more people in Montgomery right away.

 

Solar company expands in North Carolina and Tennessee

POWERHOME, a solar energy company, is expanding with the opening of operation centers in Raleigh, N.C., and Murfreesboro, Tenn. POWERHOME opened its Raleigh hub to provide homeowners and businesses in central and eastern North Carolina a supplement to grid energy. With company headquarters and additional service offices located in the Charlotte area this is POWERHOME’s third location in the state, where it plans to hire 100 associates in the areas of energy consulting and installation. POWERHOME plans to hire up to 100 people in the coming months in the areas of sales and installation in Murfreesboro.

 

Virginia Beach-based Global Technical Systems awarded $782 million Navy contract

Global Technical Systems, a Virginia Beach-headquartered supplier of advanced technology and services to defense, homeland security and other critical government security agencies, has won a $782 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command for Network, Processing, and Storage Technical production equipment.

 

Dollar General to invest $35 million, hire 50,000 employees

As the heightened demand for household essentials continues across the country amid COVID-19 concerns, Dollar General plans to nearly double its normal hiring rate and add up to 50,000 employees by the end of April as it continues to work to support customers’ needs. Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Dollar General will also invest approximately $35 million in bonuses for all store, distribution center and private fleet employees.

 

Bayou City Hemp Company eyes HQ In Houston

Bayou City Hemp Company, a hemp extraction and processing company, plans to establish operations in Houston, Texas. Located in the I-10 corridor on the west side of Houston, the facility will serve as a location where the company can easily receive shipments from farmers all over Texas and process hemp for sale and distribution. The facility is expected to be online in summer of 2020.
